Schools and Nonprofits
Classroom and Facilities Improvements
Our deep roots renovating schools and community organizations were established during W.A. Rose’s early years, and our management team remains responsive to these often time-sensitive projects. Those relationships continue today, and many Bay Area schools and nonprofits are regular clients–Oakland’s Holy Names University, St. Felicitas in San Leandro and Hayward’s Moreau Catholic High School, where we completed the renovation of four classrooms and a design studio on schedule–in time for the opening of the 2016 fall semester.
Seismic and Structural Upgrades
W.A. Rose also specializes in bringing older buildings in need of seismic or structural upgrades up to code. Recent work on Oakland’s Madrone Hotel included working closely with the client’s engineers to replace structural supports and foundation column bases, repairing dry rot and creating an ADA bathroom.
Specialty Projects and Repairs
We’re problem-solvers, skilled at managing unique, one-of-a kind projects or smaller, ongoing repair jobs. Past projects have included installing an ADA bathroom for Holy Names University. The project in the school’s Kennedy Art Center required ceiling removal, asbestos testing and expanding the square footage. The project also included transforming an existing art gallery into a classroom and installing new energy-efficient, dual-glazed aluminum windows.
Public Works
Facility and Office Renovation
W.A. Rose has worked with CalTrans for many years on a range of office renovation projects. One project completely reconfigured the space and upgraded the facility’s kitchens to meet the needs of a changing workforce.
Seismic and Structural Updates and Repairs
W.A. Rose Construction provides seismic and structural projects for our public-works clients, addressing structural degradation and dry rot, and bringing older buildings up to current earthquake standards.
Specialty Projects and Repairs
The City of Piedmont frequently calls on W.A. Rose to work on its facilities projects. We’ve made numerous repairs to the historic Community Center, including updating both the men’s and women’s locker rooms and bathrooms to make them ADA-compliant, replacing doors and making emergency repairs. The City of Piedmont knows that if there’s an emergency, they can count on W.A. Rose to respond quickly.
